Seminar 3

Creating Your Virtual Design Team
Finding & Working with Graphics Professionals

This seminar will demystify and facilitate good working relationships between you and the graphics professionals on your team.

You will learn:
  • How to find the right professionals for your needs.

  • What to do before you contact a graphics professional.

  • How to assess the portfolio and the professional, so you get what you want and expect.

  • How to provide relevant information to get a relevant bid.

  • What to expect in terms of schedule and budget.

  • How to organize the materials you hand off to your professionals, for speed, accuracy, and economy.

  • The anatomy of a design project: typical phases, timelines, and procedures.

As a successful business, you will eventually want graphics professionals to help you produce your business identity and marketing materials: logos, stationery systems, forms, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, etc.

It is critical to the success of your graphics projects to know how to find and assess the people and organizations you’ll need—professionals like printers, designers, editors, and photographers.

You should know who does what, what to expect in terms of budget and scheduling, and even how the relationships work.

If you’ve already had less than wonderful experiences, this class is especially for you.
